It's bad enough when I have a vehicle full of bottles to return... so when I can't find a shopping cart nearby, I get extremely aggravated.
I understand that the people working at the grocery stores fetching the shopping carts in the parking lot are told to "clean up the lot", which is interpreted as they must collect every last shopping cart on the lot and bring them into/close to the storefront. However, they can at least leave like two or three in the cart corrals so people can take the carts from their vehicles into the store if they have something too heavy or large to carry inside.
What if they have to return something? Then what? Or what if a single parent has a toddler and a baby in a seat that needs to go in the cart? They can't possibly be expected to leave the children in the car, walk up to the storefront, take a cart and walk back to their car... These days, someone would likely see them doing that and call the cops on them or something.
