#041 Snow Removal

When you live in certain regions of this fine country, you should be aware that there are certain environmental impacts that you must deal with. For this blog topic the focus is snow.

In this state, it snows. Sometimes it snows only a little bit, and sometimes it snows a great deal. Probably about four or five months out of the year it's actually cold enough to snow, but maybe only during three of those months do we actually get any snow.

Certain communities have ordinances that require you to clear the snow from sidewalks, and sometimes you must keep your vehicle parked in your driveway during a "snow emergency" so as not to obstruct the snow plows attempting to clear the street (which, as it turns out, plows snow into your driveway preventing you from getting out anyways - but I digress).

Now I know not everyone has a garage, and a lot of people have to park outside. So, the next time you need to get into your vehicle after a large snowstorm, you must brush it off in order to see out the windows. What bothers me is when people stop there. Don't just brush off the windows, brush off the top, too. I can't stand it when I'm driving down a highway and all of the sudden a huge chunk of hardened snow/ice comes flying off the vehicle in front of me and comes crashing down onto the road ahead or, even worse, on MY windshield. It's also quite annoying when the snow just comes dusting off the vehicle in front of me and gets all over my windshield practically blinding me because it coats everything.

If you live in a really rural part of the country and you don't have to drive near anyone, do as you wish. Don't clean the snow off your car AT ALL for all I care.... but if you have to drive in traffic at high speeds, make sure you brush off the snow... ALL OF IT. Don't forget the license plate!!!

  1. Amen Sister!...That is my #1 pet peeve..If you are not tall enough to clear the snow from the top of your SUV then you shouldn't be able to buy one. Buy yourself a fricken ladder..&%$#!.. Then there are those people that just turn on the windshield wipers and that's it. They can only see through 60% of the front window.. Come on really!!!Get your lazy A%# out of bed 10 minutes earlier!! or call in sick and let the rest of us live another day.... inconsiderate people tick me off!!.
