'Tis the season for long road trips, whether it be for visiting friends and/or family, or to enjoy outdoor activities such as camping.
These road trips can be somewhat monotonous, and most passengers struggle to find comfort sitting in a vehicle's seat in the "normal" seating position. Seeking a more comfortable seating position, a lot of first-row passengers resort to putting their feet up on the dashboard (also known as an instrument panel).
In my opinion, the act of putting one's feet on the dashboard is a major problem for the following reasons:
1. Obstructs the driver's view of the side mirror
2. Places that person at risk of serious bodily injury in the event of a collision
3. Places that person at risk of serious bodily injury in the event of airbag deployment
So, basically the safety of all occupants is put into jeopardy due to a passenger's desire to rest their legs in the elevated position. Not only are all of that vehicle's occupants put in danger, but the safety of other motorists is compromised as well!
I personally took a road trip this past weekend and I saw countless individuals exhibiting this behavior, and it is completely inappropriate. But you know what? DO IT. Go ahead, keep at it. Why? Natural selection, that's why. If you're stupid enough to put your and other people's lives in danger for something so stupid, you go ahead and do that... just make sure it's NOWHERE NEAR ME.
Is that noxious gas seeping from that woman's nasty feet? :)
